Hi Serkan,
Yes these 2 departments were created and appeared correctly in portfolio/dpt
I could not manage to use them both as a separate entry in the menu because I did not see them within the dialog box on the left hand side onto the Menu page.
I went to check the options of the page and the box DEPARTMENT was not ticked… therefore it did not appear !!! :)

I am really blocked and decided to do it all over again. I deleted current portfolio page…
Now, here is what I do:
1. Created 2 main departments (portfolio/department): PORTFOLIO and CLIENT AREA
2. Added new portfolio items (portfolio/add new), named it Wedding, Portrait etc.. I chose “photo gallery 2” and in the box “departments” I linked it with “PORTFOLIO” department
3. Then I wished to have PORTFOLIO (department) in the Menu (apparences/menu). The problem is that under the “portfolio” section There are only the portfolio items (wedding/portraits etc…) NOT the PORTFOLIO and/or CLIENT AREA departmentWhat am I missing??? I am getting crazy :(

I ve been dealing with this issue for the last couple of days :(
To remind you, i wish to have 2 pages/entry to access pictures (client area and portfolio)Client area: displaying 1 folder by client (with password)
Portfolio: displaying several folders: Wedding/Portrait/Children… (public)Client area & Portfolio should be 2 separates entry in the menu.
Now… I have 1 page already created named: Portfolio and displaying sub folders: wedding/children/portrait.
I guess i have to delete it if I wish to proceed with department and sub department?
I am sorry… but I am totally lost, could you please assist me with the right procedure given the fact that I already have a page using the model “portfolio”..???

I know how to create a page and how to create department but I am not sure how to create a main department (which box needs to be ticked?)
How to set public photos under this department? (where is the option?)I created a department but it doesn’t appear in the list of pages i got available to add in the menu.
Could you please give the actions in the right order (and where this is to be found?)

Ok i figured it myself: I had to select gallery type 2.
Solved
I just selected “NO” in appearance/theme options / portfolio / full screen button… but the icon to increase the size is still presented.
I am lost :(

The icon disappeared but this is not what I want… i still want a share icon for the social media but i dont want the possibility to “download image”

From my readings, I figured there were 2 ways:
1. number of column in media gallery through the theme options / style / gallery type for posts & pages (works only if i chose ” none” or “fluid box”)
2. theme option / portfolio / row height (works only if i chose photo gallery or photo gallery 2
In the present case, i chose photo gallery (Q1: i dont know why though… can u please let me know the impact or the difference with none or fluid box?) and increased the value from 360 (default) to 500… it seems i Have 2 columns now, at least on my screen. Q2: Will it always appeared in 2 columns or it will depend the res. of the screen? How to make sure, i will always have 2 columns??
Other Q3: how to prevent from being able to download picture when clicking on one of them? is there a way to not display “record picture as…” with a right click?
Q4: how to not allow users to increase size of the picture when clicking on the picture? I always have that icon that permits to go real size, i want to get rid of it. Possible?

Ok but what do you suggest then so as to do something nice and clean the easy way?
What are the steps so as to integrate properly 2 pictures (same format) / line while having the same space right and left and in between pictures?

I just reformatted the picture to 1920 x 1280 px.
I changed it to template with single image.
Still, i am missing a lot in height… if you see the picture feet of the child are cropped… !it should appear like this: http://www.fabiancohenphotography.com/portfolio/children#&gid=1&pid=2

– first line: 1 vertical + 2 horizontal
– second line: 1 horizontal
etc..I wish to have the same thing, the possibility to have for example:
– first line: 2 horizontal
– second line: 1 horizontal
etc..While always having them all well aligned on the side and the same space between them all so it looks clean

My aim here is to have a background slideshow image that covers the entire browser window at all times.
The images here are all cropped (or zoomed).
Is there a ratio (WxH) I could use when formatting the image before adding them to the media gallery that would allow these to be presented full size without being cropped?Not solved totally…
when uploading online, I see now the pictures are not displayed as it should… it is a bit zoomed..
What is the exact size to which i have to crop my images before adding them to the gallery so that they fit the screen rather than letting the system zoom in it..
