It seems like the Elementor plugin or the unRovr theme doesn’t like to play well with a WP feature called Lazy Images. This feature is part of the Jetpack plugin and helps with page loading times by only serving images when a visitor scrolls down on the page.

disable Lazy Images, and the page seems to be working as expected. that setting is under My Site > Manage > Settings > Performance.
