@donromen agreed. i’m still setting up my server, but when i move to https if the issue is not fixed i will change the line to serve the file from my own website over https. e.g. “/wp-content/themes/theblogger/demos/oliver/css/style.css/css/style.css”

I installed the theme, installed the recommended and required plugins, loaded the Oliver demo, and I have the same issue. The problem is in functions.php, line 54. This generates a URL like “http://mydomain.com/wordpress-installation/wp-content/themes/theblogger/demos/http://themes.pixelwars.org/theblogger/oliver/wp-content/themes/theblogger/demos/oliver/css/style.css/css/style.css”

The line is:

$main_style_url = $theme_directory . ‘/demos/’ . $main_style . ‘/css/style.css’;

So, I changed it to

$main_style_url = $main_style;

which loads the stylesheet from pixelwars.org, which is not ideal in case the site goes down, but better than hard-coding things. The URL is now “http://themes.pixelwars.org/theblogger/oliver/wp-content/themes/theblogger/demos/oliver/css/style.css”.

There are other issues with my fresh install, such as the search bar appearing at the top of the homepage, but that’s for another post. Note: I have WordPress installed in a non-root directory.
