To preface, I’m creating a personal website for my resume/portfolio. I will not be posting content.

1. How can I make the ‘my name is’ and ‘i am a…’ higher up on the page? (More in the middle)
2. How can i get rid of the additional pages on the bottom of the pages. I dont want anything else on the page.
3. I am not really sure how this happened but it seems like my portfolio is disconnected from the portfolio page that I made in pages. How can I sync them together again? (I think the real portfolio url has a ‘# ‘ in the middle right now)
4. How can I put a static background on the ‘contact’ page instead of the google map?
5. How do I remove the background video on the home page and change it to one that I want? Also, the sound comes on randomly when i go to some of the other pages.
6. How can I reorder the portfolio posts?
7. How do I change the icon of the menu items (eg. portfolio currenlty glasses)?
8. How can I get two pictures on a page to be next to each other (in a portfolio page)? They keep stacking one on top of the other when I try to put them side by side.

Hi zfriend,
1) You can check out this related topic;

2) If you are talking about sub-page links on the About me page, you need to edit the about me page and delete them.
3) Portfolio URL structure needs a hashtag to work properly. Go to appearance > widgets > empathy template page > be sure that the portfolio page is selected.
4) If the contact page is in the sixth position, you can use the following code. If it is in a different place, you can change that number.

.one-page-layout .site-main > section:nth-of-type(6) { background-image: url("paste-the-url-here"); }

5) Go to appearance > widgets > empathy template page > home > background video
6) just change the publishing date of a portfolio item.

7) You can change the icons from the Empathy template page.
8) To add a side-by-side photo, you need to select the add media button and then select the create a gallery option on the left and load the two photos in batches.
And also read the Empathy Widgets section under widgets section in the documentation.

1) I still dont really understand. Im not super tech savvy when it comes to programming css. What is the exact code that it needs (not for color) and where should I input it? Into the custom css box when im ‘customizing’?
2) My mistake, the extra links on the bottom of the page are on the ‘contact’ page. I deleted them from the edit page screen but they still show up at the bottom for some reason.

Everything else was great. Thanks so much for the awesome help. It’s why I invested in you guys for my themes.

If you do not want to change the color, you just need to delete the color-related part.
You should be sure to erase it on the text tab. Then I recommend you to delete the cache part on the browser and refresh the page.
