Amelia booking – critical error

    Just installed the theme and after installing Amelia booking got – critical error

    *** private info removed ***

    My web hosting disabled the plugin and the website is back online.

    What seems to be the problem?

    Please delete the amelia plugin and install it again.

    Also check if it has the necessary system settings by reading the link below.

    You can disable all plugin one by one and check the issue again.

    Since you’re on WPX hosting:
    Ask their support to:
    Verify PHP OPcache isn’t serving stale files
    Check for mod_security rules blocking Amelia
    Confirm ionCube loader is active (if Amelia requires it)

    Talked with the hosting. They did everything according to your recommendations.

    The plugin still breaks the website. I see it was updated 3 days ago.

    1. Clean Reinstall the Plugin
    Completely remove the Amelia plugin (via FTP or hosting file manager: delete /wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/).
    Reinstall it fresh from the WordPress plugin repository or upload the latest version manually.

    2. Conflict Testing
    Temporarily disable all other plugins (except theme plugins) to rule out conflicts.
    Test if the error persists. If the site works, reactivate plugins one by one to identify the culprit.
    Switch to a default theme (e.g., Twenty Twenty-Four) briefly to check for theme-related issues.

    3. Efor Theme Compatibility
    Since you’re using Efor Theme, ensure it’s updated to the latest version.

    Additional Notes:
    Ask WPX to run their “Fix All Problems” tool (fixes file permissions).

    Thank you for detailed instructions.

    I followed everything you suggested and talked with WPX hosting and they poitend me the plugin support.

    Since it is included in the theme package how should I proceed?

    As per the recommendations, we have tested all plugins as well as the WordPress default theme TwentyTwentyFour.

    I have also tested a different PHP version and also reset the permissions, however, the issue still persists.

    I would advise you to check again with the plugin’s support team, and if they have any further recommendations with which we can help, please let us know.

    Any update on this? I’ve been trying to use the theme with Amelia booking for the last 12 days.

    Thanks for reporting the issue.

    The problem is caused by an outdated version of the Amelia plugin bundled with the theme. We’ve just released an update for the Efor theme, which includes the latest version of Amelia.

    To fix the issue:
