Assignment Issue – Tutor LMS

I created an assignment for one of my lessons, but when I open it from the frontend as a student, the page is completely blank (empty beige background — no text, no upload form). I have already added the assignment to the course structure, but nothing appears when it’s opened.

Hi, Thank you for the screenshots!

If the assignment page shows a blank beige screen on the frontend, it usually means the assignment content is not being rendered by the Tutor LMS content template. Please check the following steps to resolve it:

Make sure the assignment is linked to a lesson/topic:

Edit the course in the Course Builder.

Under the relevant topic (e.g., Lesson 3 – Describing People, Family & Possessives), confirm the assignment is properly added under that lesson.

If not, click “+ Assignment” and select it again from the list.

Ensure “Content Drip” is not restricting access:

In Course → Settings → Content Drip, make sure the “None” option is selected (as shown in your first screenshot).

If a drip or prerequisite rule is active, the content might not appear until the student unlocks it.

    Check assignment visibility:

Edit the assignment and ensure it’s published (not saved as draft).

Under Assignment Options, confirm that “Set Deadline From Assignment Start Time” is enabled only if you want the countdown to start when the student begins it.

    Clear cache or switch template:

If everything looks fine but the page is still blank, go to Tutor LMS → Settings → General → Layout and switch the course template to Tutor Default.

After these steps, your assignment should appear correctly on the frontend with the upload form and description visible.

    Thanks

Thanks for the guidance. I followed all steps (re-link assignment to lesson, Content Drip = None, published status, Tutor Default layout, cache cleared) but the Assignment page is still blank on the frontend while quizzes and lessons work.

I’ve completed all the other steps, but I can’t find Tutor LMS → Settings → General → Layout. I’m on Tutor LMS v3.8, so this option may have moved in the new version. Could you please share a screenshot of where it is now or the exact steps to switch to the Tutor Default template?

    Hi, Thanks for the update!

In Tutor LMS v3.8, the layout settings have been reorganized slightly, so you can now find them under:

Go to Tutor LMS → Settings → Design.

Under the Course Details Layout section, choose Tutor Default (or your preferred layout).

    Click Save Settings.

After saving, please clear your browser and site cache and then re-check the assignment page.

If the issue persists even after that, please go to Tutor LMS → Tools → Templates, click Regenerate Template Files, and then refresh the frontend again — this ensures the latest layout structure is applied.

Let me know once you’ve tried this, and I’ll guide you through the next quick check if needed.

    Best regards,
    Serkan

    Thanks for the detailed steps.

I followed each point you outlined, but the issue is still occurring:

Tutor LMS → Settings → Design → Course Details Layout: Tutor Default (also tested other layouts) → Saved

Cleared browser cache and site cache (plugin + server-level, where applicable)

Tutor LMS → Tools → Templates → Regenerate Template Files → refreshed frontend

Result: The assignment page layout/visibility is unchanged.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting this.

We have just released a new update for the Efor theme (v13.2.0), which includes the latest version of the Tutor LMS Pro plugin (v3.9.1).

    1. First, update your theme to the latest version following this guide:
    https://www.pixelwars.org/forums/topic/how-to-update-your-theme/

    2. Then go to Appearance → Install Theme Plugins to update Tutor LMS Pro as well.

    Important:
If you encounter any issues or failed updates while updating bundled plugins from the “Install Theme Plugins” page:

    – Go to the Plugins page, deactivate the problematic plugin, and delete it.
    – Then return to Appearance → Install Theme Plugins and install it again.

This process will install the latest version of the plugin and will not affect any of your existing content or data stored in the database.

After completing all updates, please check your website again to see if the issue still persists.

You can view the full changelog here: https://www.pixelwars.org/themes/efor/

    Hi Mehmet,

    Thank you — it worked!
I downloaded the latest Tutor LMS Pro 3.9 plugin from Envato and replaced the old version, and everything is working perfectly now.
