What do you mean by publications? If you mean portfolio, showing recent posts and portfolios in the home page is not possible but you can show your recent posts in the home page. Go to settings > reading > choose Front page displays ( blog )

If you don’t want to cut the photo, you should set up it to 760px in photoshop. Otherwise, wordpress will cut it automatically.

I see the issue. You pictures must be larger than 760px. Worpress is rezising your photos after that px. So try to upload larger pictures. ThanksHi,

You can not remove portfolio keyword from url and but you can only edit portfolio post slug abc.
– Go and edit page : portfolio
– Manually edit the slug (Permalink field) to what you want.

Normally it should mixed all the pictures randomly. I recommend you to create a gallery in homepage and choose pictures from both portfolio album. And it will shows automatically . You can read the documentation for more information.

If you upload a picture less than 760 x 507 px, it will not be resized by wordpress. So you can add any photo in aspect ratio.

I see your point. Go to apperance > Theme options > blog > Resume Page Blog 1 is chosen. And title is not clickable. You should have read more section. Do you have enough sentences in the blog post? When you click it you will go to full single blog page.
