Please create a page for a homepage. On the right-hand side, you will see the template box. Choose Homepage Landing with Slideshow and add your images via add media button and create a gallery. You will have a slider landing page for the homepage.

You don’t need to use plugin for parallax effect. Please update your theme and You should go to appearance > customize > featured area > link box > activate the parallax effect.
Also parallax effect will be available for the post featured image in the next updates.
