Please go to appearance > customize > site identity > upload header background image and save it.
Pin’s image comes from the URL which is inside the shortcode. You should edit the pin image via photoshop and save it.
I checked your resume page and it looks normal. Could you explain to me what is your issue with the resume page?
You can use this custom css code to remove the extra spacing from about me page.

I have some limitation on your wp-admin panel. Yes, you are right, you don’t have featured image area. It should be related to your third party plugin. But I am not able to check your plugin section because of my user role on your wp-admin. Please change it otherwise I am not able to check that section.
Also deactivate all your third party plugin and try it again.
The URL issue has been fixed I guess because it looks normal.
I am not able to check your Instagram widget because of the user role.
Please keep me updated.

2) Probably you have a cache plugin which is keep the thumbnails. Deactivate it and try it again.
3) We are using the default wordpress category widgets. You can search a category widgets for fully feature.

4) When you select Sticky, the menu remains constant. However, when you select the smart sticky feature and scroll down, the menu is hidden. If you start to scroll up, it will come back.

Do you use specific pages for your blog or you are using latest post feature for the homepage?
When you editing the post, you can see the featured area box on the right-hand side of the screen. Click to add media button and upload it. You can not keep the two same post URL at the same time. When you delete it you should empty the trash as well. Then you will able to add new URL.
For the Instagram issue, I need your wp-admin details via our contact form and add this topic URL as well. I can fix what is a need.

The theme has not sidebar if you are dragging and dropping a widget to the cvcard template pages area. You should drag and drop cvcard pages widgets to the widgets area. It is for the navigation menu. The theme works with the widgets system. By the way, your navigation system looks okay.
